- EHA Custom Coatings and Effects enhance EHA Brilliance Crystal, Preciosa Crystal, Aurora Crystal, and EHA Handcrafted Glass.
- The EHA Custom Coating process is done using very controlled processes and strict guidelines.
- Due to the hand done nature of the process, there is a high likelihood of some color variation and slight flaws.
- All product is inspected before being shipped out to customers.
- We strive to attain the highest quality for all our products however, this product cannot be returned as it is all produced to order.
- If you need a coating by a certain date please consult your salesperson.
- Please call your salesperson to verify product information before placing your order.
- EHA Custom Coatings & Effects is a collection of finishes that are applied to EHA Brilliance Crystal, Preciosa Crystal, Aurora Crystal, and EHA Hand-Crafted Glass to change the color, enhance the sparkle, and highlight the detailing of the stones.

- There are three main price categories for EHA Custom Coatings: “Special”, “Premium”, “Innovative”.
- “Special” coatings are Bermuda Blue, Desire, Electra, Golden Sahara, Green Sphinx, Rosaline, Tabac, Vitrail Medium, and Volcano .
- “Premium” coatings are AB, Glacier Blue, Golden Shadow, Luster-D, and Starlight.
- “Innovative” Coatings are Brandy, Champagne, Celadon, Chili Pepper, Lemon, Mahogany, Mystique, Purple Haze, Stormy, Summer Blush, Verde.
- In addition, the EHA Custom Effects and EHA Passion Custom Coating do not fit into any of these categories and are instead priced individually based on the complexity of the effect.
- Ask your salesperson for the pricelist and accompanying chart that shows the price categories.
- The following EHA Custom Coatings are produced in our Rhode Island facility: Brandy, Celadon, Champagne, Chili Pepper, Envy, Iris Mist, Lemon, Mahogany, Mystique, Purple Haze, Stormy, Summer Blush and Verde.
- Ultra AB is a two-part process with the AB being applied at our European facility, and the Ultra being applied locally in RI.
- All other EHA Custom Coatings & Effects are produced at our European facility.
- Delivery time is dependent on the availability of the base stone to which the EHA Custom Coating & Effect will be applied. Due to this, we encourage you to discuss any time sensitive orders with your salesperson. The following delivery times are based on the base stones being in-stock at E.H. Ashley or at the manufacturer.
- EHA Custom Coatings are produced in our Rhode Island facility on a rotating 8-week schedule.
- EHA Custom Coatings are sent for production at our European facility on a 4-week rotating schedule, with the most popular coatings being done more frequently. Coated stones return from Europe 4-6 weeks after we send them, depending on the coating and the size of the stone. Larger stones take longer, as they are more delicate to coat.
- EHA Custom Effects take 6-8 weeks due to the multi-step nature of the process.
- Our coating schedule can be viewed on our website and highlights what coatings are being run within the next 3 weeks. Contact your salesperson if more information is required.
- EHA Custom Coatings and Effects are available on Preciosa crystal, Aurora crystal, EHA Select Brilliance, and EHA Select Handcrafted Glass.
- EHA Ultra AB is produced only on unfoiled stones 8mm (39ss) and larger. Not all stones over 18mm are suitable for this effect, so please contact your salesperson for details.
- EHA “Special” Coatings and EHA Passion Custom Coating are produced on the back of unfoiled stones, beads, or pendants. We do not recommend coating large pendants over 20mm with “Special” Coatings.“Special” coatings are Bermuda Blue, Desire, Electra, Golden Sahara, Green Sphinx, Rosaline, Tabac, Vitrail Medium, and Volcano.
- “Premium” Coatings are produced on the front of foiled stones, beads, or pendants. We do not recommend these coatings on large stones over 20mm. “Premium” coatings are AB, Glacier Blue, Golden Shadow, Luster-D, and Starlight. (Same as above.)
- “Innovative” Coatings are produced on the front of foiled stones, beads, or pendants. These coatings are the most versatile as far as the products they can be produced on. “Innovative” Coatings are Brandy, Champagne, Celadon, Chili Pepper, Lemon, Mahogany, Mystique, Purple Haze, Stormy, Summer Blush, and Verde.
- All new EHA Custom Coatings & Effects are wear tested for several weeks to make sure they will hold up under standard conditions.
- EHA Custom Coatings & Effects are produced on glass, which includes crystal, a material which can become scratched or chipped.
- Do not submerge EHA Custom Coatings & Effects in water or other liquids.
- Please advise your customers not to wear products made with EHA Custom Coated stones for activities like doing dishes, in the shower or the swimming pool.
- Certain EHA Custom Coatings & Effects that are applied to the backs of stones are less resistant to wear and we recommend that when you use them, you protect them with a setting, ultra suede, or some other backing material. These include Rosaline, Passion, and the Ultra AB effect.
- Stones with EHA Custom Coatings & Effects can be wiped clean with a soft cloth and a little rubbing alcohol.
- Do not submerge the stones in alcohol or any other liquid.
- The only substance we recommend for cleaning your EHA Custom Coated stones is rubbing alcohol.
- Do not use other cleaners, including Windex or other glass cleaners as it can damage the coating.
- Due to the complex nature of the process, slight flaws in the coating are occasionally unavoidable.
- We review all flaws to make sure they do not effect the durability of the coating and that the final product remains breathtakingly beautiful and truly exceptional.
- Our custom coatings are like good quality paint: while we do our best to keep the colors consistent, there will be natural variations from batch to batch. However, the results will always be beautiful.
- If this is a concern, your salesperson can work with you to identify the most consistent custom coatings in your color palette, such as Chili Pepper, Brandy, Lemon, and Purple Haze.
- We do our best to keep our Custom Coatings consistent within a batch but based on where the stones are positioned in the coating machine, slight variation is possible. Your salesperson can advise you on what to expect.
- Due to their unusual faceting, rivolis may exhibit the coatings in uniquely beautiful ways within a single batch.
- The cut and size of the stone changes how it refracts the light, making the coatings look slightly different. All our coatings are selected to be lovely on a variety of shapes and cuts, but different stones may exhibit the coatings in uniquely beautiful ways.
- Coatings may look significantly lighter on thicker stones, beads, and pendants.
- Due to their distinctive faceting, coatings on rivolis come out in remarkable ways and will not match other stones.
- Our online color charts show a range of shapes and sizes to help illustrate the variation. Our Sales team is an excellent resource on what to expect with the stones you are interested in coating.
- The way that EHA Custom Coatings interact with the base color has revolutionized the design process for our customers.

- EHA Custom Coatings & Effects are made to order for a customer and cannot be returned if the color does not work for you. We encourage you to discuss any color requirements you have with your salesperson. They can provide insight on what to expect and can often provide pictures or samples to help you plan.
- Our coatings are produced under tightly controlled conditions and inspected before shipping. In the rare instance where there is a quality issue, our policy is that it needs to be reported within 5 days and the stones must be in their original packaging and condition. Please review our full return policy here.
- Occasionally there will be a few pieces that are damaged or misplaced during the application of EHA Custom Coatings & Effects. The box will be marked to reflect the change in quantity. You will not be charged for the missing pieces.
